This is a MIDI file of Bruce Hornsby's "Harbor Lights" from the album with the same name. It was arranged on a Powerbook 180 and a Yamaha PSR-500M using Trax 2.2. The piano and some accompaniment are straight from the sheet music. The percussion was arranged by ear with MY keyboards percs, so even though they sound good on mine, I know they probably won't on a regular General MIDI keyboard or anything other than a Yamaha PSR 300-600 series keyboard, as far as I know. Nonetheless, the rest of the tracks should work fine on any keyboard, the most important being the piano track which parallels the sheet music almost exactly, so you might want to try just that if you encounter problems. Otherwise, the track names are the instruments they should be. The settings they are on now reflect what according to Trax are the corresponding General MIDI instruments, but I'm not sure of that. The file is a Type 1 MIDI file, so you should be able to change the instruments or whatever without any problems. If anyone would like to revise it to be completely compatible with General MIDI, let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. Of course any comments, questions, or suggestions would be more than welcome.

The file itself it well over a year in the making, mostly because I've been working on it off and on. Since there was a request for Bruce Hornsby songs on alt.binaries.sounds.midi, I thought I'd finish it up this weekend (which basically entailed doing the perc. track). So here it is. I'm quite pleased with the results and I'm CONSIDERING (depending on if I have time to) doing "Fields of Grey" but I'll have to think about that one. If you like this one and you'd like to see more Hornsby from me, let me know. It'll probably be the biggest influencing factor. I'm currently a Pre-Vet sophomore at Cornell University, if anyone cares. Well, enjoy!
